Authentic dim sum. Busy place. Food was mostly very good and service was good depending on the server. Will visit again if I'm back in the city.

Food was great, but nobody explained nothing to us. We thought it was all you can eat, but no. They were just overwhelming us pushing food (they walk around with the food and you pay per plate). I found a worm in one of the plates we ordered (book choy). Service wasn’t great. One of our table chose not to tip 20% and the waitress was speaking about us to another waitress.

I really hate to have to write this review.
On Sunday, March 29, I was refused service for no apparent reason. I’m a 31 year old Filipina woman and go out solo dining all the time. I thought I didn’t look totally unkempt that day.
However, I was refused service 3x. The first time, she actually did something cruel: she called me as if it was my turn next for being just one person and led me to the entrance. Then, dramatically, she turned around and said “Oh we cannot service you anymore. We can only seat up to two.”
I thought it was a misunderstanding. I then asked the guy in front of me (also Asian) if I could join their group of 6 and he said yes, but it’s up to them.
Now I can’t say exactly what for sure went down, but they appear to get into an argument with the ultimate goal of letting me in. However, they spoke in their native language, so I can’t confirm this. I was ultimately pushed away (well really I made it look like it wasn’t their fault because I didn’t want to make them feel bad) and left.
I didn’t do anything that would ban me from this place, but hey, I guess restaurants reserve the right to refuse service. The food is probably bomb, but maybe it was just an off day. I don’t know. I went all the way from Brooklyn from DC for this. Really puts a damper on the trip.
I want to stand here and say don’t go to this place because I’m not from Chinatown, and I don’t know the history, etc. I’m just sharing my experience. Take it or leave it.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry to hear about what happened and understand how upsetting this must have felt. After reviewing with our team, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding seating at the time, and we regret any confusion this caused. We will continue working with our team to improve communication and service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you’re open to sharing more, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
