April 8, 2026Had a great experience at Russ & Daughters! Went with the classic bagel and lox on a toasted sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers—simple and done perfectly. A true NYC staple. Excellence.

April 6, 2026The smoked salmon is on another level.
Paired with a simple bagel, it’s honestly all you need ????

April 5, 2026NYC staple/ classic. 20 min wait but worth it. Fresh and quality ingredients. Bagels, cream cheese, and smoked salmon! 10/10

April 5, 2026A must go place when you're in the area. I can't stop eating bagels with lox from this place.

April 5, 2026$25 for a bagel that is out of the way to get to? Worth it.
Everything bagel seasoning. Melt-in-your mouth-wild-salmon, cream cheese with chives and all the relishes.
5 star food and atmosphere. Love that old time interior with that heritage feel.
5 star service for the first kind server and
3 star for the second rude guy who’s rough words and actions bought the experience down for me. He did not smile, he had a really sarcastic tone but not in the funny sense.
They have a ticketing system and a long queue. If it’s your first time there, it’s not immediately obvious that you need to go to the ticket dispenser to grab a ticket. A kind customer who was in the queue ahead of us told us. You also do not pay when you order, you pay when you receive your order. I feel the payment part could be handled by a designated server whose main role is to be the cashier to avoid confusion and improve efficiency. Theres a few men shouting the ticket number, then other men carving the fish and putting the bagel together. Lots of staff for a small store (great thing) but the system felt like “too many cooks spoiled the broth”. Bit chaotic and system should be revised for a more seamless customer service.
Though who am I to say? They’ve been established for over 100 years. The perfect taste of the bagel is clearly carrying them through.

ATTENTION, can I please get your attention!!! If you live in or are visiting New York City, do NOT skip Russ & Daughters—this is not just a bagel shop, this is a true NYC institution and an experience you’ll remember long after your last bite.
The moment you walk in, you feel the legacy. This place has been doing it right for generations, and you can taste that history in every single detail. The bagels are perfectly fresh—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—exactly how a New York bagel should be. And let’s talk about the smoked salmon… absolutely unreal. Rich, silky, flavorful, and sliced to perfection. Pair that with their cream cheese and you’ve got a combination that’s honestly hard to beat anywhere in the country.
What really stands out is the consistency and quality. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, they deliver every single time. The menu has so many options, but even sticking to the classics feels like a luxury here. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows in every bite.
The staff keeps things moving while still being welcoming and knowledgeable, which is exactly what you want in a busy NYC spot. There’s an energy inside that just feels right—like you’re part of something iconic.
If you’re a local, this should already be in your regular rotation. And if you’re visiting, put this at the TOP of your list. This is the kind of place that defines the food culture of the city.
Bottom line—this isn’t just breakfast, it’s a NYC tradition.
Russ & Daughters did it again… 5 stars all day, every day! ????????
